In this article, we'll introduce you to the inspiring stories and groundbreaking projects of women who are not only dominating the NFT market but are also challenging the status quo, proving that NFTs are for everyone.

World of Women

An absolute standout in the otherwise “crypto bro” space of NFT’s is the World of Women collection, which has grown into one of the community’s greatest success stories. The project that started out with 10.000 drawn profile pictures of women sold more than 40 million dollars in the first two weeks of 2022. A month later Acadamy Award winning actress Reese Witherspoon announced that her production company, Hello Sunshine, would team-up with WoW to expand this project into multi-media universe including feature films and a tv series. Artist Yam Karkai drew 200 visual assets that comprise the collection by hand, using her art to empower women, depicting them in eye-catching, vibrant colors. The total value of the project is worth more than a 123 million dollars.

Bored Ape Yacht Club

One of the most famous and most valuable NFT collections, the legendary Bored Ape Yacht Club that brought NFT’s to the mainstream, had its first, primary characters created and drawn by All Seeing Seneca, an Asian-American artist based in New York. She is the lead designer behind the original part and created some of the main traits of the famous collection like the body, the popping eyes and the grinning mouth. It was her art that formed the basis of this endeavor that became a project worth over 4 billion dollars and she isn’t done yet. Her latest body of work, called Portraiture of Seneca, spans three animated works that have been minted as Ethereum NFT’s.

A woman can be anything she wants

Is the motto of the Boss Beauties NFT collection consisting of 10.000 strong and independent women depicted in various professions such as surgeon, chef and pilot. Artist Lisa Mayer’s goal for the project is to inspire and empower the next generation of women and girls. She asked the Boss Beauties’ community of Gen Z change-makers to imagine this collection of digital portraits and it sold out in under and hour, reaching a combined worth of more than 46 million dollars.

Women Rise

Following the same credo as the Boss Beauties collection, this work, also consisting of 10.000 unique, hand-drawn pieces of art, presents women as scientists, activists, coders, artists and more. Maliha Z, the 27 year old behind the project, likes to focus on social justice, women’s rights, trans rights, gender equality and girls education. This NFT collection reached a worth of more than 15 million dollars.

Women and Weapons

The collection also known as WAW, created by artist Sara Baumann, AKA Sparky, is comprised of 10.000 hand-drawn pieces depicting diverse, bad-ass women, set in the mid-20th century, carrying weapons such as nunchucks, daggers and throwing stars, contrasting them in a time when women were not seen as powerful. It was immediately sold out on the day it was launched and a 100.000 dollars, 5 percent of the collection's profits, were donated to the Malala fund, founded by Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, with the important goal to ensure girls can go to school and lead, without fear of persecution.

Nyla Hayes

The 14 year old Valeria decided to make an NFT collection together with her dad, after he told her about an article he read that there are not a lot of women artists in the world of NFT’s. One of the coolest perks is that members of the community also gain access to a mental health app run by the Alpha Girl Club team.
